Linda Monico is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer and Certified Behavior Consultant and holds a Certificate of Excellence from Dr. Susan G. Friedman’s Applied Behavior Analysis program. She is a professional-level member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT), the Pet Professional Guild and the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC). She is also a Certified Separation Anxiety Trainer (CSAT).

Linda has over 20 years’ experience training dogs of all types, breeds, and ages. She is a graduate of the prestigious San Francisco Academy for Dog Trainers, widely considered “the Harvard of dog trainers.” That puts her in a select group equipped with the best, most scientifically advanced education in professional dog training available anywhere.

Following a lifelong interest in animal training—which took off in earnest as she trained for and competed in obedience trials with her own dogs throughout her teenage years—Linda has spent decades studying the science of learning, behavior change and applied behavior analysis. She has trained not just dogs, but cats, horses, chickens, rats, rabbits, beluga whales, dolphins, and birds of prey. Passionate about science-based training and committed to ongoing professional development, Linda each year attends conferences, seminars, and workshops to add to her knowledge and skills.

Over the years, Linda has trained, competed, and titled dogs in competitive obedience, competitive agility, herding and conformation. And when she isn’t busy helping her clients solve dog training problems or giving talks about dog bite prevention, she continues to enjoy dog sports with her Australian Shepherds, Ivy and Fizz.

Linda Monico is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, a Certified Behavior Consultant, Certified Separation Anxiety Trainer, and a professional member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT).

Training Method

New Levels Dog Training uses reward-based, positive methods that help dog owners resolve behavior problems quickly and effectively. Based on the science of learning and behavior change, these methods are force-free and dog-friendly, and take advantage of dogs’ natural motivators (treats, toys, praise, and life rewards) to change behavior rapidly.

Because positive training is based on the way dogs actually learn, communication between you and your dog is easy. Not only will the training experience be fun and successful for you both, but your dog learns fast and the results are lasting. You’ll soon be living with a calm, happy, and attentive dog that willingly offers the behaviors you want.

Frankie

Yesterday morning I left Frankie and Missy out of their crates when I went to work. It was the first time I was not at home with him having “free range”. Came home at lunch and he had NOT chewed on anything in the house.! Just plays with his Playstick and his kong. He hasn’t made a mess in the house at all, either. Goes potty right after he eats breakfast in the morning. Sleeps through the night for 9 hours in his crate.

I am amazed at the transformation of my wild and crazy pup and attribute it all to you. He is a joy. Even getting so he isn’t so afraid of my husband. My husband can put his hand down and Frankie doesn’t shy away from him. Progress all the way around. Thanks so much!
