Dog-Friendly Training

New Levels Dog Training, LLC was created to help owners train their dogs with reward-based, humane methods.

The methods used at New Levels Dog Training are based on the science of learning theory and positive reinforcement, also known as reward-based training or “clicker” training. Reward-based methods are humane and do not involve the use of punishment or restraint. Because these methods are based on how animals learn, communication between you and your dog becomes easy. Your dog will be a willing and eager partner in the process.

These methods are dog-friendly. They use treats, toys and life rewards to communicate with your dog. Your dog quickly learns what behavior “buys” the reward. Using these gentle methods, you’ll soon be living with a calm, happy and attentive dog who willingly offers behaviors you want.

Credentials

Linda Monico, Certified Trainer and Certified Behavior Counselor

For over 20 years Linda Monico has trained, competed and titled dogs in competitive obedience, conformation and competitive agility. With the help of clicker training, she and her dogs have attained advanced titles, national placements and an incredible working relationship based on trust and effective communication.

Linda is a strong proponent of continuing education and seeks out opportunities to gain additional knowledge about new training methods that she can then share with students and clients. Linda holds a Bachelors of Science degree from State University of New York and is a professional member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT). Throughout each year she attends conferences, seminars and workshops to add to her knowledge and skills. Linda is an honors graduate of the San Francisco SPCA Academy for Dog Trainers and earned her Counseling and Training Certificate (CTC) from this highly respected program.

The certifications she has earned require an in-depth knowledge of behavioral science, animal behavior and behavior modification techniques. This knowledge, plus reward-based training methods, has helped her train, exhibit and achieve over 30 advanced titles in competition obedience and competition agility with dogs from a variety of breeds.

Linda is an avid participant in dog sports and enjoys competing with her own dogs as well as teaching others how to be successful in competitive obedience and competitive agility.
